Blain Crellin is a commercial photographer based in Melbourne, available for commissions anywhere. Three decades of work for architects, interior designers, developers and hotels - across Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and the USA, including a decade based in China and an artist residency in Beijing. Three bodies of work carry the story. Commission a shoot.
In 1999 Transurban commissioned Blain to photograph Melbourne's CityLink across its three-year construction, from the first dig to completion - the sound tube, the gateway, the concrete and light of a city rebuilding its arteries. The resulting exhibition, 'An Urban Road', was shown at eight venues and became some of his best known work; those photographs now open the film on this site's front page.
Transurban, CBRE, Lendlease, Multiplex, Transfield, Obayashi, Kane Constructions, Qanstruct, Peddle Thorp Architects, COX Architecture, PTW Architects, Denton Corker Marshall, BVN, Guida Moseley Brown, Mitchell Giurgola Thorp, Maddison Architects, Studio505, Luigi Rosselli Architects, M Moser Associates, HBA Design, Gresham Smith and Partners, Banyan Tree, URBN Hotels, Medina, Crown Relocations China, and Slattery and Davis - whose Italy 1, Italy 2 and DOMO interiors he photographed for their design portfolio.
