Blain has a passion for buildings, landscapes and observations of the ever changing shapes of the Natural and built World. He has been in the business of creating professional and memorable images for over 20 years, capturing and recording their beauty and purpose for advertising and marketing purposes, for clients such as architects, interior designers, landscape designers, hotels, commercial real estate, developers and charities across Australia, South East Asia, Northern Asia. 10 of those years in mainland China.
Blain is an observer of life, living and being, and through experience and maturity has developed a unique view of the World. While documenting the built environment - pieces of time are captured moment by moment - observing the commercial aspects of the visual communication process by meeting clients' portfolio requirements. In 2001, he produced, photographed and exhibited a 'cause related marketing' project, The Icon Series 1. See portraits.
When commissioned by a client, Blain is the professional and creative problem solver who - in a relaxed and focussed manner - assists to "tell the story" of the project with photographs.

He is fluent in English, and conversational Mandarin. Blain trained as a classical musician (piano) with father (civil/structural engineer) and mother (artist).
With a hospitality and business management background, he is also currently a student at university in Australia studying sociology. Hobbies: Bike riding, rollerblading, darts. Wine tasting and cooking. Reading and writing poetry, and creative writing.
