Biography
Blain has a passion for buildings, landscapes and observations of the ever changing shapes of the Natural and built World.
He is in the business of creating professional and memorable images, capturing and recording their beauty and purpose for advertising and marketing purposes, for clients - architects, interior designers, landscape designers, hotels, commercial real estate, developers and charities across Australia, South East Asia, Northern Asia and China.
Blain is an observer of life, living and being, and through experience has developed a unique view of the World.
While documenting the built environment, pieces of time are captured moment by moment, while observing the commercial aspects of the visual communication process to build clients' creative portfolios.
While creating sounds, melodies and lyrics, a song has a similiar process of gathering information from and placing it in time.
Blain has had six major solo exhibitions, and many group exhibitions including:
2012: “Architecture and landscapes”. Acme-etal Gallery, Yarra Glen, Victoria
2008: Group exhibition - Mocca Gallery. (Charity event) Shanghai, China.
2007: “Architecture in China” – Cityscape Exhibition – Shanghai, China.
2007: “Architecture” Cityscape, Dubai.
2002: Online exhibition - “Australians in China”. Australia China Business Council
2001: “The Icon Series 1” – Auction in Melbourne at 101 Collins foyer, Melbourne.
1999: “An Urban Road” – CityLink, Melbourne, Australia. Shown across eight venues (currently 333 Collins, Melbourne).
1999: Lab X group exhibition - Melbourne
In 2001, Blain produced, photographed and exhibited solo (1 of 1) prints for a 'cause related marketing' (philanthropic) project.
The Icon Series 1. Twenty-two 'Iconic Australians' were photographed for a solo exhibition.
The photos were auctioned (online) and in person in 101 Collins street, Melbourne to mark 100 years of Federation.
This event opened the Red Shield Appeal for that year.
Proceeds from the auction went to help people on the streets in St.Kilda through the Salvation Army Southern Division. John Dalziel was the then marketing director.
Blain is currently doing a study sebatical: sociology and behavioural sciences at a tertiary level.
He has returned to his music roots, while using the learning to assist in the creation of lyrics.
These include social observations, heart and mind healing, love.
Now over 20 original tracks as of August, 2024.
Blaininc is currently embarking on creating videos for each song, releasing to the blog page on this site. Testimonials
